How many times are we wanting to do something, but don’t get round to it. Yoga classes for a beginner can hold all manner of questions and insecurities. Think yoga and we imagine perfect lean slim and toned people, wearing crop tops and leggings, type yoga images and we're presented with beautiful looking people - who look like they've forgotten their t- shirt and are selling yoga to us through their bodies.
Is this Yoga - well yoga isn’t about the body image and how good we look at something. It isn’t about being judged or judging.
Yoga is a gateway to blending the mind, body and soul, balancing us in a holistic way. Taking away vanity and self doubt. It’s believing that we can be a part of a brighter world. It’s realising that we are all spiritual beings.
Doing no harm to ourselves, others around us, or the environment, holding respect and kindness at the core of our values.
Yoga offers a path to self enlightenment. How we can become better people and being aware that when we jump we will find life supports us, with this knowledge we become aware of our mind, which often can restrict us and block us, presenting its case in fear and anxieties.
Am I good enough, people won’t like me, everyone will look at me, all from the mind,
Yoga provides us with the wisdom to know we are in tune with universal energy, trusting the path we’re on.
In life we are presented with circles, patterns of out behaviour and learnt blue prints, when we learn from experiences we move to the next circle, sometimes not aware what circles or patterns we display, Yoga can give us awareness in how to grow; physically spiritually and mentally.
It can give us strength when life tests us, encouraging our ears to listen to our higher voice within us.
is yoga deep / yes it’s as deep as the ocean, like water, yoga flows soft rippling out in all areas of our life.
Water has great strength through its ability to yield to lifes cycles.
A stone thrown into a cup of water makes a massive splash, a stone thrown into the ocean is barely noticeable.
Yoga gives a pathway to becoming the ocean and not the cup of water.
So if you're thinking of taking up Yoga - please do, find a class that is grounded in all the holistic principles yoga has to offer, once you start on a path, the universe responds to the ripples, Yoga will find you, a class or yogi will come into your life. Then the real journey will begin.
